IMPORTANT – If you reserved a guest seat via our Friends and Family offer you MUST call us at (801) 407-5262 to provide the second student’s full name, email address, and demographics. This information is used for certificates and proper documentation.

Fingerprinting

Make an appointment at your local law enforcement agency or the BCI (Bureau of Criminal Identification), and have your fingerprints taken

Passport Photograph

Either at the Bureau of Criminal Identification or another provider, have your passport style photo taken. (within the last 30 days (name must be on the back of the photo)

Apply In Person or by Mail

You will need to apply in person at the BCI, or by mail if you prefer. You will need the following:

– Your Training Certificate

– A completed Application

– Your passport style photograph

– Fingerprint card

– Driver’s License or Photo ID (photocopy)

– Payment of the $53.25 fee.

The following are acceptable forms of payment if applying in person: The Bureau accepts cash, check, money order, VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS and DISCOVER. Credit card payment must include the 3 or 4 digit control number on the back of the card.

Name must be imprinted on checks (no counter checks please). Please make check or money order payable to: BCI.

If applying by mail: Please make check or money order payable to the BCI, and please send everything to the following address:

Check Your Mail

You will be notified by mail within 60 days if you have been approved or denied for your Utah Resident Concealed Carry Permit.
