The state of Connecticut requires applicants to complete a 8 hours in-person training which includes live-fire.
Call us at (203) 490-4263 to schedule your training with a Concealed Coalition state approved trainer. You must be able to demonstrate that you can safely and proficiently handle a handgun and ammunition.
If you reserved a second seat you must call us at (203) 490-4263 to schedule and reserve their seat. Same class reservations are required
– Temporary Application
– A copy of your training certificate
– Two copies of your birth certificate or passport
– Payment of the $70 temporary application fee (payable to the local authority)
Fill out the application with the sheriff.
Submit fingerprints for a criminal history check through a law enforcement agency. Fees include a $75.00 background fee and a $13.25 fee, payable at the agency where the prints are taken.
Fees must be paid by separate checks.
If approved, you will be issued a temporary Connecticut concealed carry permit, valid for 60 days.
Within the 60 days that your temporary permit is valid, you must go to a DESPP, Division of State Police, pistol permit location and submit the following:
-Your temporary permit
– A completed Application for State Permit to Carry Pistols and Revolvers (DPS-46-C)
– Payment of the $70 fee (payable to Treasurer, State of Connecticut)
– Driver’s License or Photo ID
– Certified copy of your birth certificate or passport
If approved, the DESPP will take your photo and issue you a Connecticut state pistol permit.
Remember that you must meet federal requirements to carry and possess a firearm. State and federal requirements may differ, and if you break federal law, you could be prosecuted in federal court.
