The state of Rhode Island requires applicants to obtain a minimum score from 75ft out of 30 rounds on a live range in the presence of an NRA instructor. During the 4 hour classroom portion, our instructor will walk you through some state laws and the application process. This class also will qualify you to apply for a Florida Non-resident concealed carry permit.
Call us at (401) 396-2091 to schedule your training with a Concealed Coalition state approved trainer. You must be able to demonstrate that you can safely and proficiently handle a handgun and ammunition.
If you reserved a second seat you must call us at (401) 396-2091 to schedule and reserve their seat. Same class reservations are required.

You will need to have 3 reference letters from individuals. These need to be typed, signed and dated.
Visit a notary and have your application and reference letters notarized.
Take an up to date photo. You will need to have two 2×2 color passport style photos of you to include in your application.
The State of Rhode Island requires applicants to submit their fingerprints to perform a background check. Make an appointment at a state approved site and complete your fingerprinting on two FBI fingerprint cards.
To apply, you will need to go to the sheriff’s office for the county in which you reside and bring the following:
– A copy of your training certificate
– Acopy of your instructor’s NRA/FBI firearms instructor certification
– Notarized application
– Notarized reference letters
– Two FBI Fingerprints
– Two forms of ID, signed and dated by a notary public
– Two 2×2 color passport style photographs taken within the last 30 days
-Two copies of your birth certificate or passport
– If the permit is not for work purposes, then a typed and dated letter must be submitted by the applicant stating the reasons why a permit is needed on a full-time basis.
– Payment of the $40 application fee (check or money order)
NOTE: You do not need to submit your proof of training until you are approved.
You will be notified by mail within 90 days if you have been approved or denied for your Rhode Island Resident Concealed Carry Permit.
If approved and notified, you will need to pick up your permit in person. The time and place will be provided to you.
Remember that you must meet federal requirements to carry and possess a firearm. State and federal requirements may differ, and if you break federal law, you could be prosecuted in federal court.
