To obtain a South Dakota Concealed Carry permit application, you need to visit your local sheriff’s office for the county in which you reside. (as every county has a different application)
Take the three filled out copies to your local sheriff’s office to apply. You will need the following documents:
– Your application
– Driver’s License or State ID
– Payment of the $10 fee.
NOTE: For a South Dakota resident concealed carry permit, you must have a clean criminal record for the past 5 years.
You will be notified by mail within 30 days if you have been approved or denied for your South Dakota concealed carry permit.
Remember that you must meet federal requirements to carry and possess a firearm. State and federal requirements may differ, and if you break federal law, you could be prosecuted in federal court.
