NOW, these are your next steps! If you need help along the way, reach out to us at (307) 201-7426.
Wyoming does not require formal training so long as you can demonstrate familiarity with a firearm. For some, this may be demonstrated through a firearms training course such as this one. If you are not confident that you can pass a shooting test to demonstrate familiarity, you can use your Countrywide Concealed Certificate of Completion in its place.
Take the three filled out copies to your local sheriff’s office to apply. You will need the following documents:
-(4) copies of the complete application
– Proof of familiarity with a firearm. This can be your Countrywide Concealed Certificate of Completion
– Driver’s License or State ID
– the $64 application fee in the form of a money order or cashier’s check made out to DCI or WY Attorney General’s Office.
– There is an additional $15 fee to the Sheriff (Form of payment may differ by office. We suggest calling ahead to confirm)
After your applications are submitted, keep the fourth copy. You need to take this copy to a Driver’s Services office to have your picture taken.
You will be notified by mail within 60-90 days if you have been approved or denied for your Wyoming Resident concealed carry permit.
Remember that you must meet federal requirements to carry and possess a firearm. State and federal requirements may differ, and if you break federal law, you could be prosecuted in federal court.
